Oh, worth noting, our first jump--or maybe it was our second? Anyway, after a jump I picked up a distress signal on a loop. Right before we jumped again some Rodian spotted us on his sensors, cut the recording, and started begging for our help. The captain said we had a pressing job to take care of and we didn't have time to stop.
Normally that would be a red flag, but it was a Rodian. That means it's probably a trap. I'll give the captain the benefit of the doubt and assume he's savvy when it comes to Rodians. Also, as a reminder to myself, this is Hutt Space, so I doubt there are any legal issues when it comes to responding to distress signals--and for good reason!
Maybe I should convince the captain to stop there again on the return trip. If it wasn't a trap, we'll be able to salvage some valuables before anybody else can. If it is a trap, the Rodian will still be broadcasting and we can decide how to handle it. I'd kind of hate for somebody else to get suckered in by a pack of Rodian pirates.
