Vonniss' Memoirs: ENTRY 17

They say you've got to risk it for the biscuit. I don't know what biscuits are, but I imagine they are worth a lot! Well, today, the biscuit was a fancy new ship upgrade. And by upgrade, I mean an entirely new-to-us Gozanti-clas cruiser. It's the Imperial version which has some pros and cons. In Hutt space, they'll not look too kindly on us, but in Imperial space... Okay, I guess I don't know of any pros other than once we get this thing fitted with a reasonable armament and repair the hull, the cons won't really matter as much.

Still, that's more of a down-the-road project. Right now we're trying to get the ship operational again after Ras and his crew destroyed the bridge. I mean I get it. Once they realized they had no hope of keeping the ship, why let us have it? Ras even tried to blow himself up along with us. He literally strapped some nasty explosives to himself and proceeded to take limbs off of the HK unit once we made it through the bridge's blast doors. And by "we" I mean the Jawa. I'm mostly focused on slicing Bento's datapad and getting this new guy Keek to help me retrieve the other Z-95 when the dome opens again.

Speaking of Keek... at first I thought fate was smiling on us when the Jawa spotted him as one of the pirate freighter's prisoners. Bomak had become increasingly erratic and it was obvious the captain was planning to give him over to the bounty hunter. Which was great, by the way. Bomak had completely lost it by the time Eighty Four departed with him. Like split personality kind of lost it. Anyway, Keek has certainly been 100 times more useful than Bomak, but he threw a frag grenade right in front of our faces--totally making HK look LESS reckless and bloodthirsty! I thought he had stun grenades like the captain and didn't realize what was happening until the thing was leaving his hand. Once again, we lucked out because some of the guards soaked up the blast. And I haven't written him off yet; he did sort of save us all by disarming the explosive device Ras had around his waist.
