Vonniss' Memoirs: ENTRY 16

The universe is looking out for us. Only a minimally-crewed freighter and a Z-95 showed up, so we weren't overwhelmed in some zombocalypse fashion like we expected. Our HK-e-web corridor of death became useless and almost all of our other defensive plans changed pretty quickly. I managed to get a couple of critical ion cannon blasts off to disable the freighter right out of the gate. The Z-95 was a bit trickier and was skulking about waiting to get off a concussive missile or two from cover. I had to abandon the cockpit though because there were some Kath Hounds about to take out Bomak. I saw he was struggling with one at the entrance to the rear tunnels and the second one would surely be too much to handle.

So, there I am standing on the ramp. I'm about to take out the hounds to save Bomak when the original plan turns to shit. I have my sights on one of the hounds and the ship suddenly shoots out of the bay we were parked in. The captain turns so sharply that the ass end slides out and crashes into one of the support pillars surrounding the relay equipment. Apparently he was hungry for that Z-95! REALLY HUNGRY! So much for saving Bomak! I guess the captain figures he's not really part of the crew. I can't blame him, I suppose. The guy just isn't cut out for a pirate's life. We should have left him back at the UPC office to run that for us.

Anyway, I barely hold on to the ship during this... let's call it a "partial bootlegger turn maneuver" and imply it was intentional. During the spin, however, I catch sight of three of Endo's pirates running off the ramp of their own ship. I'm able to take out two of them while the Jawa rocketing himself into the side of the ship manages to intimidate the third back inside. The Jawa and I got inside before the ramp was pulled up, so that led to the end of this skirmish pretty quickly. I shot another in the head when I saw him take a shot at my little buddy. Once this pirate went down, it made my demands of their surrender easier to swallow.

After we sorted the prisoners, we had a little chat. Most of us anyway. Bomak was instructed to transfer cargo onto our ship. The captain was none-too-pleased about how Bomak handled the surrender of the Z-95 pilot. From what I gathered, when the pilot opened up the cockpit, Bomak just shot him point blank in the face; Rodian style. It made me think of all the sick shit Bento used to do. The captain implied we may give him to the Imperial bounty hunter we found on board, but I'm not sure that's such a great idea.

Speaking of the bounty hunter. Her designation was something-something eighty-four, so we're calling her Eighty-four. She is appreciative that we opted not to murder her and we managed to strike a deal. In exchange for her helping us board Endo's ship in orbit, we're letting her loose and giving her our newish spare freighter.

New plan: We're going to board the Imperial cruiser and take it for ourselves. Sounds like we're out of the frying pan and into the fire, but we really do need to take this Endo character down a peg. I mean he's not just coming after the captain, he's coming after ME now!
